What should one know about periodontium diseases?

Many patients suffer from exposed tooth roots, bleeding gums, loosened teeth or even their loss. The reason of these conditions had been unknown for a long time. Today we already know that their cause is a common gum disease - parodontosis. It used to be considered an incurable disease. Due to development of dentistry and diagnostic techniques it is possible to examine this condition effectively along with more accurate diagnosis and treatment, also at our clinic. Periodontium is a set of tissues responsible for keeping teeth in sockets. These include: gums, alveoral bones and perodontium frenulums. Apart from caries, diseases of perodontium are most common cause of pre-term teeth loss. Due to their being widespread the diseases of gums and whole perodontium are considered to belong to social diseases.
